Thrift Store Decor : Second-Hand Lounging.

Furniture is expensive! When shopping for furniture, most people wouldn’t head out the door with $35 and think that would get them very far, but I actually would. I walked into one of the Thrift Town stores in Sacramento last week and walked straight to this couch. Yes, it IS as comfy as it looks - I sat down and literally wondered if I could just shop from there.

With Thrift Town prices, you could get the couch, a love seat, side table, lamps and a TV for just about what you would have spent on just a couch somewhere else.

{ throw in co-ordinating throw pillows for $1.99 each
& you’re on your way to a great livingroom lounge-fest. }

If you want to have your new (used) couch cleaned before adding it to your house, a lot of grocery stores reasonably rent out furniture / carpet steamers. That might not even be necessary for some couches that have machine washable cushion covers. Check out your options when you are looking at taking home a new piece of previously-used furniture. Chances are, what you spend in cleaning it will still bring you in at pennies on the dollar of a brand new piece, that probably wouldn’t have been as comfortable anyway.

Happy Thrifting! – Kari
