Here at Thrift Town, We Love Our VIP’s!
To show that love, we ran a contest, and as some of you have asked, we did indeed pick a lucky winner. Lisa Miller from Texas won, and got to come on a whirlwind adventure with her best friend Andrea to fabulous San Francisco!
It was such a great trip! As not only the Thrift Town blogger, but also their stylist, I went with Thrift Town’s Wendy & Ashley to SF, got to meet the great staff of the SF store, and have Lisa as my style client for the day. Lisa got a grand tour of the whole store, with a special look at how our back rooms operate.

After her tour, I helped Lisa pick out clothes & accessories.
We found so much great stuff!
Here’s what Lisa had to say about the whole experience:
“Thank you so very much, for such an awesome weekend in San Francisco. I loved the tour of your San Francisco Thrift Town – it was so well organized, and easy to get my wheelchair up and down the aisles. A special thanks to the a very helpful staff who made me feel like a VIP.
To Thrift Stylist, Kari Shipman “WOW you have changed my life for the better! I look and feel so beautiful”. I actually stop and check myself out in the mirrors now. Words cannot thank you enough for going above and beyond for me.
To Ashley thank you for such a well planned trip to San Francisco. When our cab didn’t show, you took action and we went a different route and saw things we might not have seen if we were in that cab. You were right there with us the whole way, I thank you for that.
Wendy, you have a well oiled Thrift Town in San Francisco. Thank you for sharing behind the scenes, it was very interesting to me. I want to thank you for toting all of our bags of clothes to the hotel for us. You have that W.I.T. spirit. “Whatever It Takes” to get the job done. I saw that in everyone I met that is associated with Thrift Town- they go the extra mile even if just to make you smile.”

As someone in a wheelchair, Lisa has had a lot of issues shopping for clothes, as many stores aren’t very accommodating when it comes to aisle width, and helpful staff. We’re so happy that our TT store and staff made for such a positive experience, including a roomy dressing room for Lisa to try on all her great new clothes. As a company that truly cares about people with disabilities, we’re so happy to get to show that love to such a special VIP.

Yes, you’re seeing correctly – those bins are full of Thrift Town goodness. As per the contest – both Lisa and her friend Andrea each got a $250 gift card to Thrift Town, and well, they went to town. A great time was had by all. A huge thanks to the SF TT crew, and to Wendy & Ashley for making such an awesome trip possible!
