YOU HEART WHAT?

New York? Pizza? Coming down off of a Valentine’s day sugar high this week, hearts, cards & mooshy love on absolutely everything has been in hyperdrive, leaving one to ask, what do you really heart?

There are a few iconic tee shirts out there that say I HEART______, and as the wearer, it’s your way of letting the world know you’ve either been to a certain place, or you really do just love something.

What’s interesting to me is just how often we announce our allegiance to big companies without thinking twice. Do you actually want to proclaim your love to them from the rooftops? No, you simply wear their gear, and it happens to have their company name ALL OVER IT.

The power of the almighty logo compels us to advertise for the brands that do what we want. But for most apparel, doing what we want is more a matter of making a garment with the functionality that we’re looking for, and less about the consumer actually supporting what the company stands for.

Well, here at Thrift Town, there’s a lot to believe in, support and get behind. Until now, with all of our product being secondhand by nature, we’ve always counted on word of mouth and the sheer satisfaction of our customers to be our logo to the world.
