SUMMER LOVIN: The heat is moving in,
& this season is all about color!
Play with it, express yourself, have fun, and don’t take yourself too seriously.
It’s time to eat a popsicle, run in the park with your kids, visit a theme park,
and invest the major dollars in memories with the people who matter,
while looking great for less.
Here’s a few of our thrifted color-wonderful outfits from Thrift Town for a little
inspiration on combining pieces you already have with that bright pop of color.

Maxi dresses are a summertime staple, but most of them are completely too low cut to wear everyday on it’s own. Short sleeved or 3/4 sleeved tops in neutral patterns make a fun pairing for a bright maxi. You can also reverse it: pair a patterned colorful top with a simple neutral maxi. Mix it up. Have FUN.
{maxi dress: $4.99 // tan & creme top: $1.99 // creme belt: $0.99 }

Bold color + bold pattern in one piece? Awesome.
You can still pair it with a rich texture in a neutral.
This rosebud skirt goes with EVERYTHING!
{ grape tank: $0.99 // rosebud skirt: $2.99 }

YAHOO yellow! As much as I adore this color (mustard, lemon, daisy, custard…) I’ll say it – most people can’t wear a lot of it. If you’re one of those people, here’s the secret: don’t wear it up by your face where it clashes with your complexion. Rock some yellow jeans, slacks or a skirt. I promise – it’ll put a little pep in your step. Just pair it with something neutral to tone it down.
I love browns or greys with yellow.
Colored skinny jeans are the it-item this summer. If you can’t find a pair of skinnies in the right color at Thrift Town, there are a ton of great tutorials online for very simply turning regular jeans into skinnies.
{ lemon jeans: $3.99 // brown woven belt: $1.99 //
striped sweater: $3.99 // mustard jeans: $2.99 }

Short sleeved (vintage) knits are great for summer! Great texture adds dimension to any look. This was tucked into a maxi skirt & belted. I added a couple sweet vintage pins to add a little fun, keeping the rest of the jewelry minimal.
{fuchsia sweater: $2.99 // pins: $1.99 & $0.99 }

Sometimes that little spot of interest can be a bold colored tank under a neutral top. This combo was paired with brown patterned slacks.
{turquoise tank: $0.99 // sheer creme blouse: $2.99
// necklace: handmade by yours truly}

Don’t be afraid of patterns – they actually play quite well together.
If you have a large pattern and a small/simpler one, as long as the colors
don’t make it too busy (have one be a neutral) it can be really cute!
{rose skirt: $2.99 // polka dot tank: $0.99
// red woven flats: $4.99 // @ and bow rings: gifts }

Don’t forget the shoes!
Flats, wedges or sandals – COLOR is key!
So cute to wear a completely neutral outfit with a fun colored shoe.
