HOORAY, IT’S FALL!
Well, kind of. Once Labor Day is over, it’s a countdown til autumn’s chill and the big color change in the trees. We hope you had a great Labor Day weekend – did you make it out to our BIG sale? We heard from quite a few of you that great treasures were found for even better prices.
What better time to have a sale? Headed back to school, and gearing up for cooler weather, there’s a wonderfully refreshing feeling to cleaning out the closet and adding in key new pieces.
We want to give you a little head’s up on some of fall’s trends, straight from the runway
to our racks at Thrift Town – how you can be on trend, but do it your way (and for WAY less).
Between Glamour.com (runway trends), a few faithful customers blogs (The Bedazzled Life & Thrift Your Heart Out) and one of our Sacramento Thrift Town stores (straight off the racks), here’s a look at the trends.

The Bedazzled Life recently went to Thrift Town to stock up on fall essentials, which for her meant PLAID. Plaid is big for fall, but using it in a feminine way. Wearing these pieces with black leggings and boots, or tucked into a solid pencil skirt with a dramatic fur will bring up the girly-ness.

It’s officially after Labor Day, but this year – white isn’t banished til spring. Layer up, add deeper colors, but show off that white!
On the left, this cream colored dress : $9.99 @ 30% off: $6.99. Wear a great tweed blazer over with dark tights. The dress on the right can be worn like the lower middle runway pic: chunky sweater over for a sweet and flowy look.

Big on the fall runways – bohemian patterns, especially on dresses.

These colorful boho-chic dresses are sweet and bold straight off the rack, and all under $8.00 each. Add a simple cardigan, tights and booties/flats and throw on a dark floppy hat. Now you’re runway ready.

For any lady, the words “chunky, big and oversized” aren’t usually words you want describing your shape or your style… but this fall, chunky oversized grandma sweaters are in. It’s all about balance: wear it big on top, and do a more form-fitting piece on the bottom, like shorts or a pencil skirt with dark tights.
Bottom right: via Thrift Town’s Carmichael Store: $2.99
With Thrift Town’s 50% off clothing sale, plus 50% off their everyday rotating color tag sale - it was the perfect time to shop for clothes.

Black, White & hot all over — glam, preppy indie or all your own —
mix and match your monochromatic tops and bottoms for a chic fall look.
All three pieces not pictured on the runway are straight from the Thrift Town racks in Sacramento.

Don’t forget the annual fall basics! Blazers are perfect for throwing on over a printed dress with a big chunky scarf. You can see from the pictured tag what a steal this blazer is, brand new, at a 86% discount. You can’t beat that!
Old Navy tweed blazer $3.99 @ 50% off=$2
Black circle skirt $2.99 @ 30% off=$2.09
Gap blazer (with original tags) $7.99 @ 30% off=$5.59

Thanks to the sales Thrift Town held, this saavy blogger was able to get all of these pieces and more (9 in total) for under $30! (She spent $26.13 before taxes, to be exact.) That makes every piece approximately $2.80. Well done, and ready for fall!
