About Us...

Norquist Salvage Corporation is a family-owned business operating fifteen Thrift Town thrift stores in four western states. The company was founded in 1972 by Bud & LaVey Norquist and Steve Moore. Their goal was to make Thrift Town a clean, well-lit, and organized place to shop with well-priced merchandise. The founders were committed to making an honest living, as well as helping to raise funds for charity. This same commitment holds true with the next generation currently running the business.
The concept of our business is extraordinary, but all of us at Norquist Salvage Corporation/Thrift Town stores know that a business is only as good as the people who work there. Not only is our company good for the community, it is also good for our charity partners, the environment, and our crew members. We have built our business on providing a fun work atmosphere, competitive wages and excellent benefits to our employees.

Norquist Salvage Corporation’s sincere commitment to the charities, the local communities, the environment, and our valued crew members is what makes us so different from our competitors. NSC has proudly earned its position as an industry leader.

NSC Mission Statement:
Norquist Salvage Corporation is a family owned business committed to operating clean, organized and profitable secondhand stores. Our mission is to create real profits so the business can support and grow its intricate framework of customers and nonprofit partners. We are committed to managing the business with a philosophy of values and beliefs that help accomplish the family mission.

Family Mission Statement:
Our family mission is to work together to ensure the continuation of a work environment that promotes good family living. Our mission embraces honesty, integrity, and individuality, while maintaining a high level of respect and trust.

Our Commitment to the Environment:
NSC is proud to have spent over three decades dedicated to socially responsible recycling. If the merchandise we sell wasn’t in stores like ours, much of it would end up in our landfills. Buying used instead of new saves time, energy and raw materials that would have been spent to make a new item. We are all proud to be a part of the solution instead of part of the problem for the country’s waste management problems.

About the Relationship With Our Charity Partners:
Thrift Town/Norquist Salvage Corporation is a for-profit business that works with several nonprofit organizations, most of which benefit both children and adults with developmental disabilities. The relationships we have established over the years are mutually beneficial to both Thrift Town/NSC and our charity partners. Since 1972 Thrift Town/NSC has generated over $70 million dollars in net profits for its charity partners in the states of Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas, & Utah. Most all of our contracts not only guarantee a majority of profits to the nonprofit partner, but have often averaged over 62% of total profits to our charity partners- something that is unheard of in our industry! We at Norquist Salvage Corporation/Thrift Town stores are proud to be part of such a meaningful and worthwhile fund-raising effort..
